What are SDGs?

"SDGs" are a set of international development goals to be achieved by 2030. They were adopted by the UN Sustainable Development Summit held in September 2015 by every nation and state joining the UN.
"SDGs" consist of "17 goals" and "169 targets" in order to realize the sustainable world. The UN requires everybody including government, companies and individuals to participate in the achievement of "SDGs".

TOMOE x SDGs

TOMOE SYSTEM agrees to "Sustainable Development Goals " announced by the UN. We believe it is important to run business activities to realize the sustainable society. Based on our business features, we will select problems to be tackled with from the goals, and actively run our business to solve those problems.

SDGs have high affinity with our important business theme. Joining SDGs will not only lead to higher corporate value, but also to stronger relationship with our stakeholders. We will work on SDGs as a strategy for our sustainable growth by making use of our advantage.

Our Goal for SDGs

1. Provide construction machinery to support sustainable urban construction in developing countries.

Decent work and economic growth (Target 8.8)

Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure (Target 9.1)

Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and trans-border infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all.

Partnership for the goals (Target 17.7)

Promote development, transfer, dissemination and diffusion of environmentally sound technologies to developing countries on favorable terms, including on concessional and preferential terms, as mutually agreed.

2. Enhance efficiency in value chain of construction machinery.

Decent work and economic growth (Target 8.2)

Achieve higher levels of productivity of economies through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation, including through a focus on high value added and labor-intensive sectors.

Responsible consumption and production (Target 12.2)

By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
